ID help - French India?

Hi,
I need help to identify this small coin. Looks similar to doudous from French India. But not the same. Any idea? Weight 0.64 gram. Diameter 8.5 mm.

It's a coin from South India locally called a 'Kayamkulam Kasu' (kayamkulam is the name of a town in the state of Kerala & Kasu translates to Cash).
It's not been fully attributed and there are debates about whether it was issued in Kayamkulam or by the Venad Chera kingdom.
Here's some more written by a senior Numismatist from the area

I agree...
Its defiantly not from Ponducheri.
I also agree that it is probably from some southern Indian princely state, or kingdom :)

Hope this helps :)
