Bamberg Private Notgeld [opgelost]

8 berichten
I have tried to identify and catalog this token. I believe it is a private released notgeld from Bamberg (as stated on the token). It is not present in my copy of Funck nor have I been able to find it on Numista. I do not have a copy of Lamb nor Upton nor Menzel. Can anyone help me identify this notgeld and its catalog identification?

Thank you for the help.

can i use your pictures to add the coin here in our catalog?
you can also add it yourself if you like

Menzel reference is M650.1 .
It would not be in Lamb, since it is private notgeld.
Upton (Emergency Coins of Germany, or ECG) reference is U (or ECG) 1-5.
Mitridat1974/donmart/halfdisme,

Thank you for your help and the links. They were very useful.
I will add the token to the catalog including your information.

Now all I need to do is to continue my search for a copy each of Lamb, Upton and Menzel!

Thanks again.

If you have a decent German/English dictionary, you might decide not to buy Lamb and Upton.

Lamb was published in 1966, with one very scarce addendum that was published around 1970.

Upton was published in 1970.

The pricing in both is therefore useless.

Lamb has more photos (one per issuer) and most American collectors use his numbering system for types, and Upton lists private, POW, porcelain, and other tokens that are not in Lamb (which covers municipal issues only). Upton's numbering starts over for each city, broken into 7 different types of issuers/materials.

Menzel covers even more issues than Upton, and it has been updated much more recently.

If you want them, Lamb (Catalogue of German War Tokens) and Upton (Emergency Coins of Germany) should be available on Amazon.
Halfdisme - I do check Amazon quite frequently and neither Lamb or Upton have been available for awhile now. I have even checked several online numismatic stores for these books. I would like to get a copy of all three to be ableto reference the notgelds that are not categorized in Funck.

Thanks again for the help.
