Does it have a collecting value? your thoughts thank you daryl
It is, what it is, or is it.
To me, absolutely ..

Three reasons:
1. red seal
2. red serial number
3. date and series

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...

 1. red seal
 2. red serial number

Forgive me if I am ignorant but I must ask...

Don't all US red seal notes have red serial numbers? Or were you referring to the star in front of it?
Yes Cass, I do believe the numbers and seal are the same color. They are the last thing printed on our bills.

I only have 2 two dollar bill star notes. I have never bought any star notes. Get mine out of circulation. Got that one from the bank for two dollars. I will keep it, have an odd thing about star notes.

If it wasnt for the torn corner and the marks you would have a real specimen worth 20X face. Fact that it is torn and marked lowers value considerably. Your bill the series C with Granahan-Dillion signatures add the star and you have the rarest of the 1953 series. If you want to swap it out PM me
Sorry PaulDeLucchi I have been very busy . And have not much time. I am open for a trade , but don't have the time right now. Funny I got it from the bank ,they save odd stuff for me, for 2 dollars. If you still would like let me know
