I think lettering is DN VALENTINIANUS PF AUG
Other side : REPARATIO REIPUB *MR* (* = unidentifiable letter)
weight : 4.17grams
diameter (at largest) 23mm
material : copper ?

I read SMR as mintmark, so Roma, but i'm not sure about the officina letter.

SM = Sacra Moneta
You can find this in a lot of late roman mintmarks. For instance :
SMK = Sacra Moneta Kyzikos
SMH = Sacra Moneta Heraclea
SMALA = Sacra Moneta Alexandria
SMAQ = Sacra Moneta Aquileia
....

the links you posted are for valentinianus iunior, so val. the second.
My coin is Valentinianus (the first).
Can you find info on it ?

I think it is Valentinian II. There is no such reverse type for Valentinian the first. It seems that RIC 43B is with "IVN" in the legend, and RIC 43 without it. So yours should be RIC 43 and not 43b. I don't have the RIC book for that emperor, could someone confirm?
