Someone help me identify this Indian coin! [opgelost]

Hello again! I recently stumbled across this lovely coin (or token?), but have no idea what it may be, where and when it comes from.

The condition isn't too great and I can barely read the letters – I think I see numbers on both sides but is it 1831, 1931, or 1984?

It has an Indian-ish vibe, so to speak, but it might be Middle Eastern, I'm not sure. Diameter is 15mm, weight 4g. Can anyone help me?

Nope, you had it right the first time! It's a 1/2 Pice from the Indian Princely state of Gwalior, located in central India:

Can't really make out the last digit of the date though....

1901 is the date
Wow! That is amazing. I should have guessed the date was in Vikram Samvat...it makes sense now!

Thank you for the help!
