Can we get a termination time for editing ones own post? Maybe 20 minutes or so, to improve spelling, or correct links - otherwise why are you re-writing what you wrote ?
Historical revision is problematical in every context.

I would not be in favor of imposing a limit. You never know when you might find something to add to a recent post. Most people will not edit long after initial posting. Perhaps you do not have access to a device to allow editing in a quick time frame. I see no harm in allowing indefinite editing.
