Value of old £10 and £20 banknotes

4 berichten
Hello,
I would very much appreciate if you could help me with valuation of three £10 banknotes (Florence Nightingale on reverse; in row EX41 340478,79,80).

I also have £20 with Shakespeare on reverse.

All in very good condition, forgotten and letter found in the loft.

Hello and welcome!

In fairly good condition, yes, but the big folds down their middle will detract from their value. :snif:

The £10 notes are worth at least face value, and if you're lucky, maybe up to twice as much. Same for the £20, especially if you're planning to sell them in the UK, where they are plentiful on the market. But don't necessarily expect to get double face value, since selling prices will often be lower than buying prices.
Thank you so much for your opinion and advice!!!!
Careful with the English notes. Most of the old 5 and 10 pounders have been withdrawn. Looks like your notes are from Series D. They are still collectible but the value varies by condition. Click HERE for more info.
