Interesting Modified Coin - Any Ideas?

5 berichten
Hi All,
I have this very interesting looking Israel 1949 10 Pruta KM# 11, that has been modified to a pin and the letters P W added. I am trying to figure this one out... One thought I have is that the person who made this used the amphora in place of an "O" For the pin to state POW. Possibly an Israeli Prisoner of War? Would be fitting since the motif on this coin is from a coin of the Bar-Kochba Revolt.

Anyone have any thoughts or input?

Thanks,
Aaron

Are these PW letters added to the coin, I mean glued or soldered on?
...you can run,  but you can't hide...
looks like they are soldered on.

The prisoner-of-war conjecture is interesting. I did some searching but found nothing helpful.

Yes, the P W are soldered on.
