I was told it may be from Iran in the 1600s,but if it is then I can't figure out what it is! It is 90 percent gold and weighs 2.6 grams. Any info to help identify would be great!
I was told by a coin dealer that this is definitely gold, and a very good kind, but he wasn't sure if this was an actual coin. But then again, here in Texas, there aren't very many coin dealers who specialize in old world coins.

Yeah I have pretty much exhausted all my resources both physical and digital to try and ID the coin. I think I am just going to put it in a 2x2 and label it "unknown Arabic gold" and call it a day. Do you know if I where to sent it to ngc or pcgs through an lcs they would be able to ID it and certify it? I have never sent in my own coins I usually buy coins already slabbed if I ever get graded ones
