Help Identifying Two Ottoman Empire Coins [opgelost]

Hi everyone,

Thanks as always for your help. I am trying to identify two coins from the Ottoman Empire, but I cannot find these varieties in the catalog and would appreciate your help. If they are in the catalog, a link would be greatly appreciated, and if they are not, I am happy to add them.

I have narrowed the coins down by denomination and year of accession. Both are silver (possibly billon).

The accession date on the first is 1143, and I believe it was minted in Constantinople based on the signature. I cannot tell the exact year it was minted because I don't really know how to read the symbols on some of these older Ottoman coins. I can't find the variety in the catalog because of the obverse. There are a bunch of stars underneath the tughra, and I cannot find any coin in the catalog whose pictured obverse has these stars. I would greatly appreciate help identifying the year this coin was minted, confirmation that I have the mint right, and possibly a link to an identification of the coin type (or if one doesn't exist, I will add it).

The accession date on the second coin is worn, but I am fairly certain it reads 1171. I can't tell the year the coin was minted and don't read Arabic well enough to know what the mint is. I cannot find this variety in the catalog either by picture identification. On the obverse, there is a symbol to the bottom left of the tughra that I have not seen in any pictures of Ottoman para coins. I appreciate any help you can give me with this one as well.

I also realize that these coins may be from other territories of the Ottoman Empire, but I have no idea where to start searching if that's the case.

I have attached pictures that hopefully depict the identifying features of the coins well enough for a good identification. Please let me know if I need to take better ones.

Thank you!

There's a date on the first coin, at the bottom of the second photo. It appears to read 1143. (Note: Sorry - you already mentioned this. I can't help with the year beyond this).
yes, and that looks like the Constantinople mint mark above the date.

Coin 1: Mahmud I, 1143-1168 / 1730-1754; para (0.4-0.6g), Constantinople mint, mark and year are ص 1143 , KM #194 (in KM this mark is given the Roman Numeral of VIII).

Coin 2: Mustafa III, 1171-1187 / 1757-1774; para ( 0.32-0.5g), MISR (Egypt) mint, year 1171, mark missing. The top line on the side with the date should end on the right with the hook under the line, not above the line. The actual mark should be above this line; it is likely worn on your coin. KM #101.

Thanks for the help! I've added the first coin to the catalog here at Numista, so it should be up soon. The second, I agree, I think it's a lost cause because the year mark is too worn down. I tried to look closely at it for about an hour, but I wouldn't even know what the markings look like for each year to compare. With coins in this series, the don't seem to just be regular arabic numerals. I really appreciate the help figuring out what type the coin was. I would not have thought to look at Egyptian coins!
