15 euros in free market in zagreb.
Was it expensive?
Not at all if it were real!

Problem is, it isn't. :(
Why it's not real?
I checked right now and it's not magnetic but I'm not sure if the coin is real.

how can I know if the coin is real?
There are many fakes in Italy of this coin.
Look this articles (I'm sorry are in Italian language)

http://www.montevecchia.it/sito_falsi/tab_falsi_13.htm
http://numismatica-italiana.lamoneta.it/moneta/W-VE3/40?r=Falsi_d%27epoca

so one aspect very important is the weight, another is the little round bowls
Andrea from Italy
Probably contemporary, but still quite fake.
I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!

thank you for the information.
The crude rim on your coin is highly suspicious. It doesn't look at all like the original one.

But it does look very much like a coin of mine, which I also suspect to be a contemporary counterfeit:

(left is original, right is counterfeit [EDIT 28-may: left and right were wrong!])

The counterfeit is not magnetic (which it should be as the original is made of nickel), the edge reeding is vague, and the edge itself is crude. The colour is more grey than the original.

I think both your and my coin are contemporary counterfeits made using the same techniques. Maybe their cradles didn't stand too far apart.

thank you ArnoV,

Next week I'll be home and I'll check these details. If the coin is contemporary it should have some historical value at least. false of epoch.
Yeah looks like a contemporary fake.
