unknown token - workers

9 berichten
Hi,
I am interested if somebody know what that token (coin) present. Material is copper, 30 mm, 10 g. Picture is unfortunately the best I can do because condition of the coin is not the best. Coin is very thin.

Thanks in advance,
Zago
I bet it's a medal and the blank space on reverse is supposed to get the name of the medallist

I agree an award. The clue is to figure out what they are doing. No heavy tools present so it must represent some more intellectual field work - not mining. the gnome with the cross (soil sampling tool?) seems incongruous and may be a clue (???). The platform is interesting. lightly constructed it seems to be a temporary scaffold - unlikely for soil judging. Too many people for prospecting.
A profession that would give awards: possibly engineers.?

Maybe stone masons?
And it did have a hanging loop at the top once, which has almost been removed.

My guess would be archaeology?

Plenty of amateur societies have medallions given out to their members, and it fits in with everything we see on the obverse!
What is that small lettering below the wreath?
Looks like
HUGUENIN VER
or similar.

Good investigative work, guys.

This one is probably by the same engraver and actually has the same reverse. This one too.

Here is the search "huguenin" on eBay for Switzerland via picclick. Lots of medals in the same style, though not this one.
