The last digit seems to be a little blundered. Take the pictured example on the page--it is also 1842.

I am attaching a clearer picture, which I hope will be adequate for the purpose.

I feel it is reasonable to conclude that the year is 1849 since:

1. The tail of 9 is clear in the picture.

2. The gap between 9 and the line nearby makes it apparent that it is not the tail of 2.

Therefore, I request that the year 1849 be added to Mysore (IPS) 10 Cash, Krishna Raja Wodeyar.

Yes, that image is definitely better. Thank you. :)

But I must agree with Idolenz. The '2' on these coins is rather '9'-like, but there does appear to be a base to your number, separate from the lion's foot. This would be a 1842 piece.
