I'm an old (not registered before though...) user in Numista for searching gold coin or silver coin information. It helps me quite a lot!
Recently we have developed a mobile application for testing gold coin and silver coin. I hope it can be helpful It uses sound identification (which relies on mechanical properties of metals), so it can detect most common fakes, including clad/plated fakes as well.
Don't hesitate to have a look and have a try!
And your suggestions are highly welcome
Interesting app, really happy to see that here. I have to test that more seriously later this evening. I have also tested silver and other coins using mobile phone app (not my own app). I have some +4000 records at the moment. My database contains also other metals than gold or silver. Your app uses silver content and dimensions and calculates the frequences based on that information, I believe. How reliable is the test, how much is allowed to deviate from expected frequency?
Thanks for interesting in the app!
Yes exactly, the app uses frequency for test. The frequencies of different metals of the same shape & weight differ quite a lot, so it's easy to distinguish them in frequency domain.
We hope that you have enjoyed it.

I mostly use Bullion test app to get frequency for my coins. Another app I sometimes use is Advanced Spectrum. And of cource tested data is in excel. Regarding PreciousCoinTester, I would like to see the results, Hz's also.

ok thanks
I tried Precious Coin Test and 90% of the times it gives incunclosive results and/or 0 star, for coins i know in advance they are silver. I´ll still testing some more coins this afternoon and share results
