Hello,

I have just bought this beautiful pillar dollar from 1739 Rooswijk shipwreck. My question is: shoud I clean it with soda or antitarnishing or leave it as it is?
Thank you in advance.

Definitely you shall not clean it, especially with such abrasive as a soda

You already said it's beautiful. Why clean it?

I agree with this. Whatever you will do on it, it will decrease the beautiness....:o
...you can run,  but you can't hide...
It's perfect just the way it is. Don't ruin it.
Thank you for your answers. I may leave at it is, I only rub it gently with a piece of cotton to remove any dirt deposited on it.

I wouldn't touch the coin AT ALL. No gentle rubbing or anything.

some times the black spots and dirt bring out the designs and make the words visible. Plus if you clean it the feeling in your head that it’s cleaned is gonna make u want to get rid of it.
