I have looked, and I realize I have limitations...but I cannot seem to find it.

Under Guinea-Bissau, that would be 'Escudo (1914-1975)'. This place became independant in 1974, so the currency seems to reflect that.

'Portuguese Guinea' would fit well in the ruling authorities section, I would think, although Guinea-Bissau has not had any ruling authorities added yet.
So we will have to just "know" that a Portuguese Guinea note needs to be Guinea-Bissau?
That doesnt seem right.

How do I get this fixed?

I was able to apply a currency. Thanks Sulfur...

I recall there being a discussion to divide Cameroon into French Cameroon, but in the same discussion, Togo was declared fine to leave as one entity. I cannot seem to find the topic, and I cannot remember the reasons, but some colonial rules are split while others are not.

Right now, Portuguese Guinea is under Guinea-Bissua. Not sure if it will be split or stay where it is...
The Portuguese Guinea notes dont actually say Portuguese Guinea. They say Guine. Cant use that as a title since there is a country named Guinea. But I still think it is unusually difficult for someone to look for this note and be surprised it isnt in the Guinea listings...and then find it in Guinea-Bissau...

I really hope this can be thought about further..

Portuguese Guinea definitely needs listing on its own, not under 'Guinea - Bissau'.

Aidan.
The Banknotes of Portuguese Guinea are on the "BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO" and is signed in Lisboa. Which is in Portugal!

We have got to stop this artificial and a bit silly forcing of this territories notes to fit into a completely unrelated by name nation such as Guinea-Bissau! You might argue As Cass Taylor did that because the integrity of the territory didnt change, we can list them there. But we still have Ceylon. Come on.

We are not a slave to Krause...but with this note, we are a slave to silliness it seems.

The average collector is not going to know where the hell to look for this note...and I am going to have a headache denying the many many duplicate requests and questions of "Where should I list my notes. They say Guine. But there is nothing in Guinea that looks like it. It looks Portuguese, but it is in none of the several catagories for Portuguese...Huh? It should be in Guinea-Bissau?"

Please fix this and give me the listing for Portuguese Guinea. Even if we must actually have it go under Guinea-Bissau, it is very strange that we do not have this heading.

I have thought about this. I am pretty sure I am not making a request that is a waste of time. Please give me what I have asked for. I do not understand how this can be defended. Please, someone with authority fix it.

I agree that Portuguese Guinea needs to have an entry under Guinea-Bissau. Other countries that changed their names but not territorial integrity have been treated in that manner. Current Djibouti, former French Somaliland (actually French Somali Coast [in French] on the single banknote listed or French Afars and Issas (which I have never seen given in English in this form but usually just Afars and Issas or French Territory of the Afars and the Issas); current Zimbabwe, former Rhodesia and Southern Rhodesia. Before independence current Guinea was generally referred to as French Guinea in English (though as just Guinee in French) just as the current Guinea-Bissau was referred to as Portuguese Guinea (though just Guine in Portuguese). Maybe I am in the minority but I don't see a problem with collectors having to determine when countries changed their names but not territorial integrity that the earlier names will be listed as a second level under the current or latest name. I do think second-level entries are necessary. And Ceylon is properly a second-level entry under Sri Lanka.

Hello,

Portuguese Guinea is searchable as an alternative name to Guinea-Bissau.

Otherwise, I agree we need some consistency regarding name changes.

It seems that the current trend is not to split issuers due to name changes and I support this.
