Since the Austrian Notgeld section is very active, I just wanted to let everyone know that there are now individual issuers for Austrian Notgeld (about 260 in total so far) + a shared Notgeld currency. I have probably about 100 more issuers to add, maybe next week.
The existing notgeld has to be moved manually, there are just a few in each issuer so not enough to justify the Robot.
But maybe at least the new additions can go directly in the dedicated issuer already.

Is there a good list of cities by state for either Austria or Germany? I have around 10k notgeld and unless it is written on the note I don't know a way to accurately find out which state the city was in at the time it was issued. It would be a lot easier to find them and list them by the city then state. The city is listed on almost all the notes.
The way the Deutsches notgeld catalogs have them listed (by town, usually as it appears on the note)
make them easy to search and identify... even if your German is almost none existent

@ctucker: At the pages on your images you have the state abbreviation right behind the city's name, like Freiburg (Bad / BW), Bad = Baden, the historical state, BW = Baden-Württemberg, today's state. Otherwise you can upload a note in the general German Notgeld section and I will add the state or city. Some day we will have all German Notgeld classified by city, we are working on this :-)

Notgeld notes should be listed under the name of the state at the time of their release (German Empire & Weimar Republic), not under the names of the current states of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland).

A big update:
We now have 974 Austrian notgeld issuers! 564 of these also have a short description about number of inhabitants, district, private notgeld issuers, and sometimes other details. A couple examples:
I have still a list of 41 issuers I cannot identify precisely (which state, district, Marktgemeinde, Ortschaft...) + 44 issuers who only did private (but legal tender) issues.
There are now less than 400 unassigned notgeld on Numista. The section is getting there.
