Citeer: "numinis"Am I the only one who has found the joke about 007 ableist and racist? :(
What was it? I never saw it.
Was this thing really racist or just a easily offended snowflake getting twitter and bisted. I say this as a man of 3 minorities (Racial, sexuality and mental health) and I laugh at all the offensive stuff and really can't stand the over political correctness and cancel culture that has ruined many promising careers and lives.
We need to laugh at ourselves more, people need to stop getting so offended at silly things and get on with life. I mean major racism like Nazis, Jim Crow and Donald Trump - fine, but Noddy Books, Disney Cartoons and jokes about periods is going too far.

I find a lot of irony in a conference about combatting global warming in Glasgow of all places and in November. Seriously!!! Its cold and wet most of the time (Nearly every episode of Taggart and Cracker shows its cloudy, wet or even snowy).
Glasgows weather forecast for the next two weeks, basically all rain and showers and temperatures in single digits.
(Source for both images - timeanddate.com)
And for those worried about drought, sun and UV damage - check that out a full 8½ hours of daylight and the sun will rise to 18 degrees above the horizon, to give you an idea of how low that is - your shadow would be 3 times longer at midday than yourself.
I don't dispute the need to end global warming and cut down on fossil fuel usage, but at least hold the conference in a place that is either 1. Hot and sunny, 2. Polluted (Most of Glasgow's industry was killed off by Thatcher) or 3. Has the sun actually rise above the hills and is shining after 6pm.

In conversation with another member I have come with a scale of accepitability for photos on this thread.
At the moment the tone is dropping slightly from less good to bad. I think if we see any pro Trumpite, alt right posts of Pepe the Frog, this thread should be shut down.
At the very least we should have a disclaimer like "Broad Minded Viewers preferred" as some people are very easily offended in this woke era
Level of photo posts
Good
Historical and scenic photos (Except those that glorify Nazis, KKK or other racism)
Wildlife photos - as long as its tasteful, no hunting shots, roadkill or animals mating
Educational posts that tell a story as long as its not racist or offensive.
Less good and annoying
Commercial photos - eg alamy, etsy
Cat and dog photos
Selfie type photos
Humour photos that are tasteful eg Political commentary
Memes
Bad (All tasteless from this point on down)
Photos that mock the overweight, ugly, mentally ill, sexual orientation, eg effeminate people and drag queens etc
Tik Tok - sorry most of those videos are retarded crap
Toilet Humour and meme photos (eg Willy Wonka, staring dog rubbish)
Gifs that show people falling over etc
Racist photos and memes (Eg - We wuz kangz, Tyrone, Black woman screaming)
Pepe the Frog and Trump type memes.
Commercial spam
Disgustingly bad
Stuff that glorifies Nazis, KKK, Extremists, Jihardists
Pornography
Viruses that wreck computers
Ransomware that threatens exposure and even death.

@Moneytane, how would you rate the picture that was removed? Was it a ‘snowflake move’ or do you agree it was racist and demeaning? I’m not politically correct and I like a strong joke, but in my opinion, this was really tasteless.
I think this thread can be fruitfully used both for funny pictures themselves and for discussions about such pictures, including their meaning, acceptability, and taxonomy; and about the concept of fun in general. Users who don't have enough patience to make their way through walls of text can just scroll down skipping the undesirable messages, but other users (me including) sometimes find such talks quite enlightening.
As for what counts as acceptable, we have generic terms of use, where it is explained that "the User must not publish messages or information [...] Insulting, defamatory, racist, xenophobic, revisionist or damaging to the honour or reputation of others". https://en.numista.com/conditions.php I see nothing ambiguous here.

I would say its is disgusting, tasteless and offensive.
It makes fun of overweight, black and less aesethically pleasing individuals.
It also suggests that black employees are lazy in being unproductive and take long toilet breaks when they should be working. It could also be interpreted as sexism against women workers as it leads to the stereotype of them "powdering their noses" etc.
Yes my earlier comments were written before I saw it, but now I agree with you guys and feel the photo was offensive and racist, as well as being sizophobic. I would never have had posted it.

Maybe it's more of an exchange thread? I don't know, but I've managed to have nice coin exchanges lately, but judge for yourself, The grandchildren of two boys and two girls claim that this exchange was good - I don't know, it seems to me that I should have exchanged it for a knee made of a nicely smoky pig.
However, children think that this is adequate given the quality of the coins.

Im sorry that you found it as such. It was not my intention to post anything offensive. Rather i found it highly relatable from my Retail worker days (ie a dead end job ) as taking bathroom breaks was the only breaks i was allowed aside from lunch so i would 99% of the time go and sit down for a while to relax my feet. If one of you had contacted me i would have gladly removed it. Im also myself a heavier man, not as heavy as i was but again i found more as a relatable thing. Im sorry that it was found to be offensive i figured other people who worked retail would understand. I do think youre reading into it a bit too much but then again it may also be my high relate-ability to it , again im sorry if offense was taken it was not my intention nor was it my goal.

The difficulty here is the lack of context. All I saw was a picture of an overweight black woman on a bathroom with a demeaning text. After reading the above, I understand why you posted it and that it was not meant to be racist. Without the context however, it is racist and that's why it's good it has been removed. That being said, there is something else that I would like to point out, not specifically to you, but to all who are posting in this topic. We are a community that is about coins, notes and exonumia. I like a good laugh, but all the cats and other animals in 'funny' positions are not funny to me. Funny pictures that have something to do with numismatics would be more appropriate. This forum is open to everyone, with and without an account. Is this something we want outsiders to see when they stumble upon this website for the first time? Just think about that
Let me add a little disclaimer in case someone takes this the wrong way. I'm Dutch and I'm used to saying what I think. Freedom of speech is the most important right that I have as a human being, but that also works the other way. I want to emphasize that this is not a plea to kill this topic or to limit what can be posted (although, as we saw, some things are over the line without context). Feel free to post all the funny pictures you want to post, but do it with sense

I understand I had made a mistake i should have given it context. I had originally gotten from a circle K memes page (thats the store i worked at ). Thank you for understanding my friend. I hope that i didnt ruin myself on mistake, i just wish someone had messaged me or tagged me since i havent been on here much thats why it took so long to reply cause im going through recirts for my current job.

[edit: removed pictures.
You gave yourself a definition of "bad pictures"...just stick to it.
Funny does not imply offending or judging others.

I guess that is Stamford in Lincolnshire. I was in that town last week, and saw an ice cream van
and paid £3.50 for a lovely Oreo Waffle ice cream. He piled high a sugar cone with ice cream,
then opened a Tupperware box filled with Oreo biscuit crumbs, and rolled the top of the cone in them. ❤️
Yes it is (going there since I was little)
The ice cream sounds good. I used to frequent the infamous Thai restaurant there until it closed down in late 2019 so since then I have visited Stamford less and less apart from buying coins and clothes. But I do like the new Starbucks and Swedish cafe opposite where I can sit down and have a coffee with a snack while I go through the coins that I bought.

Some off stampboards on a thread described as being “for broadminded viewers” which now means If you are woke, SJW, Keyboard warrior of feel anything said about non whites is a racist attack - then look away.
None of these should offend anyone - no races or genders have been mentioned or status of ableness, gayness or politics.
Some Christians and low intelligence people may be offended though.

US Congressman Buddy Carter introduced a new bill this week to rename Greenland to “Red, White and Blueland” I wish I were kidding but I'm not.
I think the biggest problem in these times of overbidding galore is that it's impossible to understand when some politicians lose grip of reality. I am seriously contemplating to place all news sites on my router blacklist and stop reading the news altogether. I am convinced that we will see some kind of crash this year, but it's really difficult to see where it will begin and where it will end. Sorry for being OT.

The Golf of Mexico is bow also renamed to Golf of America on Giogle maps. I didn't know it was that easy to just rename something, so I'll just give it a month before the Atlantic Ocean gets renamed to American Ocean. 🤷♂️

You probably missed what I posted last week as it was short lived and wiped out of existence because of some of the comments. So here it is again:

No, no, I saw it. But what Ibdidn't see then was the new names of the Atlantic and the Pacific. Nice touch. 👍
I must day that, despite the theme of the map, it's very well made. Did you do it yourself?
Found it after having a friendly debate about legal tender in Scotland. In Scotland (And Northern Ireland), no banknotes (Bank of England, Scottish, NI, or any other) are technically legal tender. They were trying to tell me BoE notes were legal everywhere in the UK. 🙃
Not that it matters in practicality. Tbh, it wasn't really a debate, we were just sharing some random silly facts and he didn't believe me.
Have a great Easter everyone, and be safe out there!
Witches fly here only at the end of the month, now it's Easter, the symbol is the "lamb" or eggs, today is Maundy Thursday so we eat spinach with meat. On Friday meat is not allowed to be eaten and no work is allowed with the soil. The whole week is called Passion Week. Lots and lots of traditions.
Decoration is everywhere - here's just a sample of what's on the table.
How, sorry, I only saw the word Easter and it's about funny pictures. So the reaction was inadequate, so sorry, or admins, please stop.

I like your input, Ivan, and I very much appreciate cultural traditions. Thanns a lot! 😊
I just wanted to take the opportunity to combine an Easter wish (please note I didn't say happy, as it's not happy. Not yet, anyway! 😇) and some funny pictures related to (the modern) Easter.
It’s a quite sensitive topic about the boats and I though something political is note allowed here.
