Hello friends.

Can you help me to identify this proto coin?

The seller told me that it is a celta ring money.

Diameter = 19mm

Is there some way to identify it?

Best regards

Hi,
Celta, maybe ; money, no.
It is a ring, made to be used as a ring. It is no more a coin than (or as well a coin as) leeks, horses, slaves and women.

Nice. But it is an original piece? Is it possible to compare it with other pieces? Thank you very much.

Of course !

Maybe Celtic, maybe beforeor after (but before the Middle Ages).

Nothing is more like a ring than a ring; but i would say celtic.
A couple years ago I bought this "Yoruba ring" from Nigeria which the seller (a reputable store) sold as 'currency'. This fact is indeed debatable as Quiquengrogne says. In those times many things were used as 'currency'. For me is a curiosity.

There's an interesting page about 'Celtic ring money' here: http://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/articles/celticrings/celticrings.htm

It could easily be Celtic (which covers a very large period of time - in Britain anytime before 43AD), but could just as easily not be, and it's not money.
