Good Morning, Afternoon & Evening to all,

I hope you are all well during this difficult time.

I have a 2010 Flororence Nightingale Two Pound coin, I recieved this in my change some years ago and when i saw it's condition, I had a feeling it wasn't suppose to be the change.

What I believe is that this Two Pound Coin is a PROOF, I am 99.99% Sure of this, it has the qualities of being a proof or being in a set.

I have attached some images for you to see the coin itself, It has got some scuff marks on it now from where coins have been close to it, but since i've had it, it has been left in the same location, which was in a folder, until today, when I scanned it to be catalogued.

Thanks

Looks like a lightly circulated regular coin to me. What proof like qualities are you referring to?
Hi Harry, Thanks for replying,

Well, when I first had it the edge was sharp, Very crisp to be prescise,

The Queen's Effigy has a frosting over it, which is common in proofs and sets, I have a 1990 Proof Set, which show these qualities.

It's a good idea to add the link to both the circulating and non-circulating coins.

Because of the frosting, I agree this is certainly the non-circulating coin. This does happen occasionally. Last year I got three commemorative Canadian $1 ("loonie") coins in my change at the supermarket, one of which has the "W" mintmark which is found only on non-circulating coins. It sounds like someone may have ran out of money and started spending some of his/her collection...

Sorry, the frosting is not very apparent in the photograph provided.

Both links are for the non circulating.

.

Its possible coins get stolen from dealers and the crook just spends it at face value. I had an Aussie non-circulating collectible in change from a coffee shop

This is very true, there was a program shown over here and one story was how theives broke into a coin shop, opened sets and tried to use old Sized 50p/10p/5p to buy stuff
