Help identifying Muscat & Oman 1315 1/4 Anna [opgelost]

5 berichten • 132 keer bekeken
Hello. There are a bunch of varieties of this coin, but I can't find a good match.

Weight: 7.0 grams
Diameter: 25.2 mm
Year: 1315
Value: 1/4 Anna

So...for coins dated 1315 Numista and Krause have KM's #3 and #12, but the obverse pattern is way different and the weight is quite off. KM's 6 and 10 are closer in weight and have a similar obverse pattern, but they don't have 1315 as a possible date.

Visually the reverse is almost identical to this one:

So I'm confused and hoping someone can help. Thanks as always.

Chris
I haven't gone through the Numista M&O listings, but the Krause listings don't cover most of the designs.

I'm still waiting for the promised book and web site.
Thanks, lots of interesting information at the links. In the end I don't feel like I can give it a KM#, but that's ok.

I got out my coins and I have this type (but yours is in much better condition). My notes say "retrograde 3, reverse like 10.1" and it is probably SC-44 (but I'm going to wait until an illustrated version of the Scott Cordry work comes out before I research that more).

Thanks, that's helpful. I just did a pretty close compare with the SC-43 at the Chiefa link and it matches mine well.
