Today I've bought this coin and it seemed pretty authentic. It cost me around 6$. What do you think? I would also want to know from which Dynasty/kingdom it is (even if it is a replica - what it was based on?). My guess it's from before the Qin Dynasty - The Warring States Period? Is it authentic or a replica?
It's 5,5 cm high and 2,5 cm width. It's weight: 0,050 lb (0,023 kg). Thank you for any help! :)
Hello
the design of this coin does not exist so we cannot say that it is a copy or a replica
the characters take several eras
So ......
it's an authentic thing but not a coin

The design do exists, just not commonly seen even in contemporary time. It is listed in one of the top 50 rarest Chinese coinage so I'm pretty sure it is a replica.
This type was casted in 7 AD / 14 AD during Wastern Han or Xin Dynasty by Wang Mang, the "artist" of Chinese coinage who created fancy types of coins. The text on the coin was 國寶金匱 (State treasure golden cabinet) / 直萬 (worth 10 thousand cash, which equivalent to 1 Jin gold, about 250 grams)
So what a surprise
this does not exist in any of my books
I'm glad I learned something really interesting
On reading the article it is not really considered as a current currency but a "bearer voucher" this is probably why it is not referenced in my books
